Frequently asked questions
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes, and the fee is $130 per session. Extended sessions are available as well for a fee of $200 per 90-minute session. Payment will be due in full at the end of your counseling session. The card you place on file to secure your initial appointment will be charged through Simple Practice.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds to pay for therapy. Additionally, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Why do you not accept insurance?
This is an intentional decision based on my commitment to privacy, autonomy, and flexibility in care. By not working with insurance, I am able to offer support without requiring a clinical diagnosis, and without insurance companies determining eligibility or influencing the type of care provided.
Additionally, I recognize that perinatal mental health and concerns related to pregnancy and perinatal loss are deeply personal and often involve vulnerable and sensitive experiences and decisions. Protecting that privacy is central to my approach. This allows clients to make choices about their care in partnership with their providers, rather than through the constraints or requirements of third-party payers and without their healthcare choices being limited to the values of an organization, business, or individual.
While this means services are private pay, it also allows me to keep the focus on individualized support and to prioritize what is most helpful and appropriate for each mother and couple I serve.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I am glad to provide superbills to clients to allow them to pursue potential reimbursement with their insurance company.
